Akarmis Technologies Ltd · Last updated July 2026

Akarmis Technologies Ltd ("Akarmis", "we") builds software for schools, congregations and communities. We take a simple position on privacy: the data our products hold belongs to the institutions and people it is about — not to us. This page explains what that means in practice, for this website and for our products.

1. This website

The akarmis.uk website collects no personal data by itself. There are no analytics trackers, no advertising pixels, and no cookies set by us. If you contact us by email, phone or WhatsApp, we receive the details you choose to share, and we use them only to respond to you.

2. Our products

Our products (including SchoolBridge) process personal data on behalf of the institutions that use them — for example, a school's pupil records, attendance, assessment results and fee accounts. For that data:

  • The institution is the owner and controller of its records. We act as a processor, on the institution's instructions.
  • Children's data stays the school's data. We do not sell it, share it with advertisers, use it for marketing, or use it to train artificial-intelligence systems.
  • Data is stored securely, transmitted encrypted, and backed up nightly in encrypted form.
  • Access is role-based: teachers, administrators and parents each see only what their role allows.
  • When an institution leaves our platform, it may take its data with it, and may require deletion of what we hold.

3. What we collect from product users

To operate accounts, our products hold the minimum practical: a name, a phone number, a role, and the records the institution keeps about the people it serves. Sign-in uses one-time codes sent by SMS; we do not store passwords for mobile users.

4. Payments

Our platforms are designed so that money flows directly between payers and institutions — for example, from a parent to a school's own Mobile Money account. We do not hold, route or take custody of funds, and we do not collect card or wallet credentials. What we record is the accounting: invoices, confirmations and receipts.

5. Ghanaian law

We operate under the Data Protection Act, 2012 (Act 843) of Ghana and take our obligations under it seriously. Where our products serve institutions abroad, we work to the standard of the applicable local law or Act 843, whichever protects the person more.

6. Your rights

If we hold personal data about you, you may ask us what it is, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it (subject to records an institution is legally required to keep). Write to us and we will respond within a working week.

7. Contact
